About the story and the website

The Story

After a long string of unfortunate experiences with landlords, I finally thought I found a good place to be. It was a brand-new property advertised as a 55+ building. Once I moved in, I discovered it wasn’t quite what they implied it would be. Kids were allowed to live there and by the time I moved out, there had been over 100 calls to the police for drugs, theft and property damage. In addition, there were challenges to the way the building was designed that had they been truthful about it all, I would have never moved into the building in the first place. So, I hired an attorney to help me with my landlord. This turned out to be another long string of unfortunate experiences.  The book has the main story in it. What is here is supporting documents that wouldn’t fit in the book.

The attorney I hired was put on probation for what he did to me and other people, but the probation agreement didn’t include restitution, so I was told to file a case in conciliation court to get my money back since the Client Security board doesn’t help with attorney misconduct is involved. I did, and he retaliated by filing a case against me in district court. The same judge oversaw both cases and allowed his courtroom to be used as a playground. I hired an attorney to defend me against this nonsense, and he chose to take advantage of me. The judge cheered them both on, OLPR didn’t bat an eye, and the judicial ethics committee wasn’t concerned that the judge didn’t require there to be any evidence or for them to even make sense in order to rule against me.

I told the judge I was planning to do this book, and he didn’t object or say I couldn’t. Brian also knew it was in the works, and never objected to it, either. I told them that if this was such a good thing to do to me, then we ought to let others know how the legal system works.
